Ultrasound
At Kaukauna Clinic, we offer ultrasound services so you can access you care at one convenient location.
Diagnostic medical sonography, also known as ultrasound, is a type of medical imaging that uses high-frequency sound waves to view organs and structures within the body without any radiation. Many people associate ultrasound with imaging done during pregnancy, but it can also be used to diagnose numerous conditions and diseases. Ultrasound images are seen in real-time and have the advantage of being able to detect things in motion, such as blood flow.
Echocardiography is a diagnostic medial exam using ultrasound, high-frequency sound waves, to view the heart. Still images are taken as well as video clips to show the motion of the heart, its valves, and blood flow. Cardiologists then use these images to determine how well the heart is pumping, how the valves are working, and are able to diagnose a wide range of heart conditions.
